We are back with the all-new Football Podcast hosted by Sky Sports News Radio presenter Mikey Burrows. The first edition of the new season discusses the opening weekend of Premier League action.

The opening weekend of Premier League action is discussed on the latest Football Podcast.

Sky Sports News Radio host Mikey Burrows kicks off the brand new Premier League season in the hot-seat and is joined in the studio by TEAMtalk deputy editor James Marshment and Sky Sports feature writer Adam Bate. The trio get stuck straight into Manchester City's masterclass on Monday Night Football as the Manuel Pellegrini era began with a 4-0 destruction of Newcastle. Marshy believes City made a title statement with the performance, and tears a strip off both Alan Pardew and his under-performing Newcastle players. He also mocks Arsenal's attempts to sign Yohan Cabaye and says the Gunners would be far better trying to tempt the Magpies to part with star keeper Tim Krul. Pellegrini wasn't the only new manager to get off to a flyer and Bate stresses why he believes David Moyes' Manchester United will be the team to beat this season. Marshy also waxes lyrical about the performance of Danny Welbeck and reveals a tasty little bet which has been placed in the office over the United and England striker. Arsenal's transfer market failures also come under scrutiny, with Marshment and Bate debating a make-or-break fortnight ahead for the Gunners and their under-fire manager Arsene Wenger. Rickie Lambert's World Cup prospects, the chances of all three Premier League new boys going down and Liverpool's top-four hopes are all also discussed.
