The scout reports...

We check on Blackburn's Adam Henley, emerging as one of the most highly-rated talents outside the Premier League. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Henley moved to England aged three but by the age of ten his footballing talent was already emerging. He was training with Manchester United aged just ten, but he did not make it into their academy and was soon snapped up by Blackburn - and he has not looked back since. Henley made rapid progress through Rovers' acclaimed youth academy and he was handed his Premier League debut in late November 2011 - coming on as a substitute against Wigan. Not long after he was given his first start, against his boyhood idols Liverpool, and he helped Rovers to a 1-1 draw. He then started not long after in their historic win at Manchester United. Following Steve Kean's departure, Henley has emerged as a first-team regular with new boss Henning Berg believing he has a big future. Henley has also become a Welsh Under-21 international over the past 12 months, but the Rovers youngster has numerous options. Being born in America he is eligible for them as well as England. It is understood a number of Premier League clubs are actively following the young prospect, and it is easy to see why. Raw pace allows him to attack at will, whilst he is strong in the tackle.

The scout says...

Henley could easily be the next lower league full-back to make the step-up to the top-flight following on from the likes of Kyle Walker and Carl Jenkinson. An outstanding talent who has a huge future ahead of him, and Blackburn will do well to keep hold of him - although time under Berg along with first-team football will be of huge benefit to him.
