Jussi Jaaskelainen - West Ham United
The first of three Hammers to make our starting line-up, Jaaskelainen makes the cut for having produced a wonder save against Newcastle. Demba Ba thought he had levelled matters at St James' Park with a powerful header, but the West Ham keeper sprang across his goal to claw the ball away before it crossed the line.
Rafael - Manchester United
A come-from-behind success for Manchester United at Aston Villa may have been inspired by a certain Mexican forward, but more on him later. The Red Devils were cut open far too easily on two occasions either side of the interval, but Rafael offered enough during an entertaining encounter to justify his inclusion - with the Brazilian at his marauding best heading forward.
Jonas Olsson - West Bromwich Albion
Another week, another win for West Brom. The Baggies remain on the fringes of the top four, with only goal difference keeping them out of the UEFA Champions League places. Steve Clarke's side collected their first away victory of the season at Wigan on Saturday, with Swedish centre-half Olsson putting in another commanding display at the heart of their back four.
James Tomkins - West Ham United
West Ham now sit sixth in the Premier League standings after collecting a 1-0 victory at Newcastle, their fifth success of a productive first season back in the top-flight. Tomkins helped the Hammers to secure a shut-out on Tyneside, with the defender catching the eye against a club that were reported to hold an interest in his services back in January.
Jose Enrique - Liverpool
Chelsea's lack of width in midfield afforded Enrique all kinds of space during Liverpool's trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The Spaniard needs no invitation to get on the front foot and he controlled the left-hand side of the field for the Reds. He was unable to keep a clean sheet, but impressed as Brendan Rodgers' side claimed a point in a 1-1 draw.
Andreas Weimann - Aston Villa
Scoring two goals against Manchester United and ending up empty-handed felt like 'losing a cup final', according to Weimann. He can, however, take plenty of heart from the fact that he was able to breach a usually watertight defence on two occasions. His first was an unstoppable drive which fizzed past David de Gea and his second saw him display predatory instincts inside the box.
Kevin Nolan - West Ham United
Nolan gets the nod over Tottenham's Sandro in the heart of our midfield as he collected three points over the weekend and was responsible for West Ham leaving Newcastle with another morale-boosting success. Nolan returned to haunt his former employers by grabbing the only goal of the game, offering the Magpies a painful reminder of what they let go in the summer of 2011.
Marouane Fellaini - Everton
Everton remain inside the top four, but you have to wonder whether they would be occupying such a lofty standing were it not for Fellaini. The Belgian midfielder has taken his game to a new level this season, with talismanic displays put in on a weekly basis. Another inspirational showing on Saturday saw him score one and make the other as the Toffees overcame Sunderland 2-1.
Javier Hernandez - Manchester United
Manchester United's victory over Aston Villa on Saturday evening has been mentioned a couple of times already, but we now get to the star of that particular show. Hernandez started the game at Villa Park on the bench, but was introduced at the interval to devastating effect. He strolled off with the match ball, but must wait and see whether the dubious goals panel rob him of a hat-trick.
Olivier Giroud - Arsenal
It has taken a while for Giroud to get going in English football, but he is now displaying the kind of form which saw him bag a hatful of goals in France and earn senior international recognition. The powerful frontman netted a brace against Fulham over the weekend, with the only surprise being that a man brimming with confidence did not step up to take a late spot kick.
Dimitar Berbatov - Fulham
While Giroud was good at the Emirates on Saturday, Berbatov was even better. He too helped himself to a brace, but also provided an assist as Fulham held Arsenal to a thrilling 3-3 draw. Berbatov's class was obvious from the off, as he controlled the game at his own pace, and the composure he displayed in slotting home a penalty perfectly illustrated what he is all about.
