Stoke defender Geoff Cameron has signed a new contract and will be remaining with the club until at least the summer of 2018.

The 29-year-old’s original deal was due to expire in a year and Stoke have acted to ensure the United States international defender remains at the club for the long term.

Cameron joined Stoke from MLS outfit Houston Dynamo in 2012 and is now a first-team regular under manager Mark Hughes.

A popular figure with the Stoke fans, the versatile Cameron can play at full-back, centre-back or in midfield.

He has made almost 100 Premier League appearances for Stoke and is also a regular for the USA national team, with over 30 caps to his name.
