What next for Sunderland?

Alan Smith joined Patrick Davison to reflect on Sunderland's Premier League survival - and mull the future of manager Dick Advocaat.

A goalless draw at Arsenal on Wednesday was enough to see the Wearsiders safe for another campaign and preserve the record of a manager - appointed in March until the end of the season - who has never been relegated.

"Football's in his blood," said Sky Sports co-commentator Smith, speaking from the bowels of the Emirates in the latest of our special Tunnel Talk series.

"At times this season they looked down and out but Advocaat seems to have built a quick bond with the players and he's organised them very quickly.

"It's a big decision, in terms of the manager. A club of the size of Sunderland shouldn't really be struggling season in, season out."
