Lampard told Sky Sports: "I enjoyed it. I was delighted with the reception from both sides, Man City fans have been brillaint for me up there.

"And Chelsea fans quite rightly get behind their team and showed complete class at the end to give me an ovation. I'm pleased with that moment because I didn't get that at the back end of last year.

"I can be very thankful for that."

Lampard believes Chelsea will be happier with the result, leaving the Premier League leaders five points clear of City.
