Hull are in talks to sign Aaron Lennon on loan from Tottenham for the rest of the season, Sky sources understand.

Sky Sports reported at the start of the January transfer window that Spurs were prepared to sell the 27-year-old, who has struggled to establish himself in Mauricio Pochettino's first-team this term.

Lennon is keen to play regular games and a number of Premier League clubs have been interested, but they have found it difficult to reach an agreement with Spurs for a permanent deal in this window.

Therefore Lennon, Tottenham's longest serving player, will only leave the club on loan this month and Sky sources understand there will be no commitment attached to the deal.

Lennon, who has 21 caps for England, has scored 30 goals in all competitions in almost 10 years at White Hart Lane, having made more than 300 appearances since he signed from Leeds in the summer of 2005.

If he moves to Hull, he will join former Spurs players Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore at the KC Stadium.
