Crystal Palace have completed the signings of midfielder Jordon Mutch and free agent Shola Ameobi.

Mutch moves across London from QPR after less than six months - and just 11 appearances - at Loftus Road, while Ameobi has signed a deal until the end of the season.

The striker was available for no fee after leaving Turkish club Gaziantep and is reunited with Alan Pardew, his former manager at Newcastle.

"Shola will bring a wealth of experience to a young group of strikers I have," Pardew said. "He's played at the top level all his life, and I think that experience will be important on the run-in.

"I'm really pleased to have him at the training ground - not just as a player, but as a character and a person."

Mutch, meanwhile, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract and Sky sources understand the fee is £4.75m for a 23-year-old capped by England at U21 level.

Pardew said: "I think he's a young payer with potential. it hasn't quite worked out for him at QPR, and therefore we'll give him an opportunity to come and play here.

"I think he's got talent and score goals, and hopefully in our environment he can have a little bit more success than he had at QPR. We've worked closely with QPR and we both probably think we've got a good deal, so that's good news for both clubs."
