West Brom midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu will undergo tests on a suspected groin injury after being forced off in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old was withdrawn midway through the first half during DR Congo’s goalless draw with Cape Verde on Thursday.

Mulumbu, an important player for West Brom, is now a doubt for their final Group B game against Tunisia on Monday and will cause concern back home for manager Tony Pulis.

Mulumbu said: "I had pain in my groin. We will need to do tests to see how serious it is. I really felt pain.

"The most important thing was the match, and we didn't win, so I am a little bit unhappy. It was as if we were afraid. We were the better team but we didn't believe it.

“We need to show that we want to win against Tunisia, because we didn't show anything today. We have to either win our last match or we go home and it will be tough because Tunisia play well.

“I know we can win. We deserve to get out of the group."

Mulumbu has made 15 appearances for Baggies this season before joining up with DR Congo’s squad and featuring in their opening Africa Cup of Nations match  - a 1-1 draw with Zambia last Sunday.
