Crystal Palace are still interested in signing QPR midfielder Jordon Mutch, according to Sky sources.
The Eagles are understood to have made a loan enquiry about the 23-year-old earlier this week, but QPR will only entertain permanent offers.
Palace are now negotiating with Rangers having had a verbal offer of £4m rejected.
QPR will only sell if they recoup the £5.5m they paid Cardiff for Mutch in August.
It is believed Mutch would welcome the move given his lack of playing time at Loftus Road – he has started only six Premier League games for the Rs.
Mutch started his career at Birmingham and had loan spells with Hereford, Doncaster and Watford before moving to Cardiff in June 2012.
