Head coach Gus Poyet says its a great challenge for his Sunderland players as they face league leaders Chelsea

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has challenged his players to become the first team to beat Chelsea this season.

Jose Mourinho's men head to the Stadium of Light on Saturday and Poyet is looking for a repeat of his side's win at Stamford Bridge in April which shattered Chelsea's 77-game unbeaten home record.

Chelsea have made an unbeaten start to their Premier League campaign and have also made it to the last-16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Poyet said: "If you win every game you get stronger and you get that feeling in the team that you can play badly and still win and at least get a draw.

"But the next team is the one who has the opportunity to stop them somehow and everybody is going to want to take that chance - and now the opportunity is for us."

Poyet believes that while the prize of becoming the first team to beat them is there for opponents, he insists Mourinho will have different priorities.

He added: "There are plenty of games to go and I don't believe the aim for Chelsea right now is to not lose a game.

"I think it is to win every trophy and if they need to lose one or two games I don't think they are going to be too bothered about it."
