Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is looking to wrap up two more deals and says he has no plans to part with Jack Cork.

Towards the end of a summer in which outgoings at St Mary’s have dominated the headlines, Koeman is hoping it will be incomings that take centre stage before deadline day.

Talks to add further fresh faces to his squad are at an advanced stage, with a defender and a winger said to be top of the Dutchman's wish list.

About him there was a lot of rumours, but Jack is doing very well and wants to stay in Southampton.

Atletico Madrid's Tony Alderweireld has been mentioned as one possible addition, but Koeman has refused to reveal the identity of those he is close to capturing.

He said after Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Millwall in the Capital One Cup: "I don't go and talk about names about players.

"In two positions we are trying to bring in new players and we hope to bring in this week.

"The club is doing everything for that and I hope that we will finish with that this week."

Koeman has also been quizzed about the future of 25-year-old midfielder Cork, with talk of an imminent move to Crystal Palace refusing to go away.

He added on a man who netted his first Southampton goal at The Den: "He's a player of Southampton.

"About him there was a lot of rumours, but Jack is doing very well and wants to stay in Southampton.

"Okay, if there is any possibility for him, and when he is not happy, then he knows the door is open of my office and he can come to talk and then we will see what the best is for everyone in this situation."
