Jesus Navas believes Manchester City have the quality to win the Premier League and UEFA Champions League this season.

The Spain winger, who was not selected for his country’s World Cup squad, made 30 appearances en route to City winning the Premier League title following his arrival from Sevilla last summer.

However, City were beaten by Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League after progressing from the group stage for the first time.

Navas feels there is plenty of hunger within the City squad and is hoping Manuel Pellegrini’s side can make a greater impact in the Champions League.

"Winning the Premier League was a dream come true but the downside was not being selected for Spain's World Cup squad,” the winger, who also scored in the Capital One Cup final win over Sunderland, told the Manchester Evening News.

"Going forward, I will keep on fighting and playing the way I do. With Spain and England not doing well at the World Cup I think there will be more hunger for us to win things this season. The quality is there and that will show.

"We have got enough talent in the team to win the Premier League again hopefully and fight for both trophies.

"We have got the quality in the squad to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. It would be great to win the title again but obviously the Champions League is the target this year.

"We went past the group stage of the Champions League last season so the aim is to go as far as we possibly can.

"The Premier League is still very important but winning the Champions League would be a dream come true. Obviously we need to aim higher and the Champions League is the next step."
