Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is in contention for Sunday's Capital One Cup final with Sunderland at Wembley.
City's top scorer has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury but returned to training earlier this week.
The Argentina striker has scored 26 goals this season but limped off during the 5-1 win at Tottenham on 29 January.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini refused to confirm whether Aguero would start against Sunderland but he is delighted to welcome him back into the squad.
"Of course it is very important for the team to have Sergio again with us because he is a very important player," he said.
"It is something (Aguero's participation) I must decide and see the way he recovers from the work this week, if he is 100 per cent fit after his injury, to play the whole match."
Pellegrini will be without defender Matija Nastasic and striker Stevan Jovetic, though, after the duo were ruled out of the game through injury.
Nastasic is struggling with a knee problem, while £22m summer signing Jovetic came off the bench during last week's Premier League win over Stoke only to be substituted again with a hamstring problem.
