Southampton's Dejan Lovren is feeling good after returning from injury - and has set his sights on the Europa League.

Defender Lovren was named on the bench for Saturday's 3-1 loss to West Ham, who are now eight points behind Saints in 10th place.

It was Lovren's first involvement since damaging ankle ligaments at Sunderland last month - but he insists he is fully fit ahead of schedule and has urged his team-mates to start looking up the Premier League table.

Mauricio Pochettino's men trail fifth-placed Tottenham by 11 points - but European qualification could drop to sixth and seventh, with Manchester United and Everton in those places and six points better off than Saints.

Lovren could return to the starting line-up for Saturday night's televised clash with Liverpool at St Mary's - and he insists Saints still have plenty to play for.

"We are really happy with where we are right now, but I think we can do much better, and we have a lot of games still," he told the Daily Echo.

"We want to finish in the best position that we can, so I hope it will be the sixth place, for the Europa League.

"That would be an amazing place for us, and we can achieve it.

"We need to win, we need to take every point, every possible point now, for the next games, but I think and I believe, like the others, so we can."

Lovren added: "I'm feeling much better. I think the injury is behind me, after four weeks."
