Swansea City's first-choice goalkeeper Michel Vorm expects to return to full fitness in time for their clash against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Vorm has not featured for Michael Laudrup's side since their draw against Norwich City at Carrow Road in December due to a knee injury.

However, the Dutch international underwent a successful operation last month and is closing in on a comeback.

The Swans host sixth-placed Spurs as part of Super Sunday double-header on Sky Sports and Vorm believes he will be at Laudrup's disposal.

"You need to make sure you are 100 per cent and I am nearly there now," Vorm told the South Wales Evening Post.

"Hopefully I'll be fit to play against Tottenham at the weekend."

"I can tell you one thing: at the start of this season we had a terrible schedule, all the big teams."

Gerhard Tremmel

In the absence of Vorm, German shot-stopper Gerhard Tremmel has deputised and he believes the first half of Swansea's Premier League campaign has been turbulent.

Terrible schedule

"I can tell you one thing: at the start of this season we had a terrible schedule, all the big teams," he said.

"We didn't pick points up and everybody was worrying about what's going on with Swansea, the Europa League and everything.

"Then there was a time when we picked up the points and all of a sudden we were far from the relegation zone."

Despite currently sitting 11th in the top flight standings, Swansea have not won in their last seven Premier League outings, losing four and drawing two, which Tremmel puts down to the quality of the opposition.

"I have to admit that in the last few games we haven't got a lot of points on the board - but we played maybe the best teams in the league," he added.

"This week is going to be a tough game again against Tottenham but at home, we can beat anyone."
