Jozy Altidore has revealed that Sunderland have agreed a deal with AZ Alkmaar for his services.
The United States international striker scored 23 Eredivisie goals for AZ last season and has long been linked with a switch to the Black Cats but was coy about the move earlier in the week.
However, the 23-year-old, who spent time on loan at Hull City in the 2009/10 season, has now suggested on his personal website that a deal has been agreed and the transfer is imminent.
The article was swiftly removed but that is believed to be as a result of Sunderland's desire to announce the deal themselves rather than any late hitch in the transfer.
Altidore is set to undergo a medical on Monday before becoming the latest arrival to join Paolo Di Canio's rebuilding process at the Stadium of Light.
