Steve Clarke says no members of his West Bromwich Albion squad will be forced under the knife this summer.
The Baggies have ended the 2012/13 campaign with a clean bill of health, meaning they can enjoy a well-earned break before knuckling down in pre-season.
That is welcome news for Clarke and his coaching staff, as they can plan ahead without concerning themselves with the fitness of individuals already on their books.
It was suggested at one stage that the likes of Shane Long may have to undergo surgery in order to correct niggling knocks, but the Irish striker has put groin, hamstring and back complaints behind him.
Clarke said: "There are no plans for any surgery, no.
"I don't know about cosmetic surgery! But there's nothing to do with injuries.
"We know it is a long, physical season and there will be knocks.
"Players will miss games and players will be available for games but that is why you have a squad, to look at the times they are in and the times they are out."
