Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has undergone surgery to remove a blood clot in his shoulder.
Sinclair was taken to hospital after feeling unwell last Friday and the 24-year-old required an operation after the blood clot was discovered.
He remains in hospital, but is expected to be discharged at the weekend and will return for a check-up in about a month.
Speaking after his side's 1-0 win over West Brom, manager Roberto Mancini said: "We are very sorry for Scott but we hope he recovers quickly.
"Scott is getting better, he is in the hospital."
