Tony Pulis wants to be given the opportunity to take Stoke to the next level, but only if chairman Peter Coates allows him the chance.

The Potters have recorded back-to-back Premier League victories after a run of seven games without a win.

And after hitting the 40-point mark, Welshman Pulis is hopeful he will get the green light to continue into an eighth year at the club.

The 55-year-old said: "I will sit down with Peter and have a good chat with him in respect of what I think has gone on.

"There are certain aspects that you think you could have dealt with better.

"That's for me to discuss with the powers that be and to learn from one or two mistakes.

"There is an enormous amount going on, the club is developing. I'd like to be given the opportunity to do that.

"I hope the club's ambitions match my own. I can't stop people talking and the mischief - but there has been nothing from the club that suggests anything other than I want to continue here - and they are happy for me to do so."
