Wigan striker Arouna Kone is closing in on a club record following his injury-time winner in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Newcastle at the DW Stadium.
The Ivory Coast international has now scored nine Premier League goals this season, just three short of Henri Camara's best-ever total for Latics in the 2005/6 campaign.
However, Kone insists he is focused on helping the team avoid relegation and win the FA Cup rather than personal glory.
He told the club's official website: "It's great to have personal ambitions but it's not about me at this time, it's all about the team and how we can get ourselves to safety.
"It could be a really memorable season if we can achieve our goals in both the Premier League and the FA Cup.
"Getting back-to-back wins is great for our confidence and the more we win games the more momentum we will gather along the way."
Kone also admitted it was a new experience for him to score such a vital goal at that stage of a match.
He added: "It's the first time that I can remember that I've scored so late in a game to get the three points.
"I didn't quite know how to celebrate when we had scored because it hasn't happened for me like that in my career.
"It was a brilliant moment and the whole stadium was rocking, the fans seemed to really enjoy it."
