Tottenham Hotspur's Hugo Lloris admits he had to adapt to being used as a second choice goalkeeper for much of the early stages of the season.

The £12.3m buy from French side Lyon has started the last three games displacing 41-year-old Brad Friedel, who kept 14 clean sheets in the 2011/12 season.

French international Lloris had previously stated there were no problems at Tottenham and he was prepared to battle for the No.1 spot.

He had been used to starting games at Lyon last season and now feels his situation is back to normal after making four Premier League appearances for his new club.

The 25-year-old said in Le Parisien: "I had to adapt. There is a coach and early in the season there was a team set.

"When there were negotiations for my transfer, it was absolutely not forecasted to happen that way.

"Mentally it is very good to play matches regularly. The situation is back to normal."
