Fabio Borini: Happy at Liverpool despite losing his Italy place
Liverpool forward Fabio Borini insists he does not regret his decision to join the club in the summer despite a difficult start to his Anfield career.
Brendan Rodgers' side find themselves in the wrong half of the Premier League table with Borini struggling to find the net since his £10.5million move from Roma in the summer.
But the former Swansea loanee is happy with his decision to return to England from his homeland.
"I have got no regrets about choosing Liverpool," said Borini.
"I have got no regrets about choosing Liverpool."
"Going abroad for a young person is an opportunity to grow and then there is the possibility to work better."
The 21-year-old has scored just one goal in 10 games for the Reds - against Gomel in Europa League qualifying - and has lost his place in Cesare Prandelli's Italy squad.
But Borini does not regard this as a huge blow, preferring to focus on the opportunity he now has rather than take it as a slight on his performances.
"The return to the Under 21s? I don't consider it a downgrading," he added.
"For me it is always a privilege to wear the Azzurri shirt, both for the senior and the Under 21 team.
"I am glad to be here and I have as an additional incentive the aim of returning to the senior side. This should be the goal for all of us."
