Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is ready to grant Theo Walcott's wishes and play him in a striking role.
Walcott has admitted that he has yet to sign a new contract because wants assurances from Wenger that he will be used less as a winger and more as a striker.
The England international is out of contract at the end of the season and he could leave the Emirates on a free transfer next summer.
Wenger is now ready to give the 23-year-old the chance to prove he deserves a regular run of games starting up front.
Asked whether he will consider Walcott as a striker, Wenger said: "I did it with Henry and Van Persie and I think I will do it with Walcott.
"I have no set date in mind, but I will try it."
Asked about progress on contract talks, Wenger added: "No progress is good progress."
