Ipswich Town have followed up the signing of Richie Wellens by bringing in striker DJ Campbell on a three-month loan deal from Queens Park Rangers.

Wellens joined Ipswich for a month from Leicester City on Thursday and Paul Jewell has continued to improve his squad with the capture of Campbell.

The 30-year-old has not made an appearance for QPR this season after being left out of manager Mark Hughes' 25-man Premier League squad.

He scored just once in 11 league appearances for the Rs last term after moving to Loftus Road following Blackpool's relegation from the top flight.

Campbell had been linked with a return to Blackpool, but will now spend the remainder of 2012 at early Championship strugglers Ipswich.

Both Campbell and Wellens could make their Ipswich debuts on Saturday when leaders Cardiff City visit Portman Road.
