On-loan Sunderland full-back Danny Rose is eager to get forward more and build on his blossoming partnership with winger James McClean.
Rose joined Sunderland on a season-long deal from Tottenham Hotspur before the close of the transfer window and he has started the club's last four games.
He is beginning to settle into life on Wearside and is keen to follow manager Martin O'Neill's instructions to offer more in attack.
"For the first two games I think I could have got forward a lot more than I did," Rose told the club's official website.
"The gaffer told me he wanted me to get forward a bit more and that's a part of the game I really enjoy.
"I'm going to try and [get forward] in the games to come."
McClean operates further up the left flank and Rose is confident his understanding with the Republic of Ireland international will improve.
He added: "I'm still getting used to James and how he plays.
"I'm working out the best time to get forward and I want to feed him the ball as much as possible as he's a dangerous left-sided player."
