Hugo Lloris admits he was relieved to finally make his Tottenham debut against Lazio in midweek and has pledged to 'shake things up a bit' at his new club.
The France international made the move to White Hart Lane from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon late on transfer deadline day.
However, he had to wait three weeks to make his debut, with boss Andre Villas-Boas choosing to stick with Brad Friedel, who has made 308 consecutive Premier League appearances.
The Portuguese has since warned Lloris that he faces a battle to dislodge veteran Friedel from the No.1 position and would need to impress when given the opportunity.
The 25-year-old had little to do in his first appearance in the Europa League on Thursday, though he did earn praise for his performance from his manager after the 0-0 draw.
Lloris has since revealed he has no idea whether he will play against QPR at White Hart Lane on Sunday, but insists he is ready to battle for a first-team spot.
"The choice lies with the coach but I'm here to shake things up a bit," Lloris told L'Equipe.
"I'm not worried, if Tottenham came looking for me at Lyon, then surely I will play a part in the future of the club.
"I just hope that I get the chance to play.
"To get a bit of playing time [against Lazio] while I'm still settling in, getting to know the club and my new team-mates, that can only be a good thing."
