England Under-21 international adds depth to the Black Cats squad

Sky Sports understands Tottenham's Danny Rose will join Sunderland on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old can play at either full-back or as a winger and his versatility will add options to Martin O'Neill's squad. Rose often deputised at left-back at Spurs for Benoit Assou-Ekotto but has found his first-team opportunities limited at White Hart Lane. His move to the Stadium of Light will provide him with an opportunity to play regularly in the Premier League. Rose will fill the void at left-back which has been created by Kieran Richardson's impending move to Fulham. The England Under 21 international was part of Stuart Pearce's Team GB squad for this summer's Olympic Games.
