Swansea City defender Garry Monk has hailed new boss Michael Laudrup as the man to push the club forward.
The 48-year-old enjoyed a successful playing career gaining 104 caps for Denmark and winning titles with Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Ajax.
The Danish legend, who has previous managerial experience at Brondby, Getafe, Spartak Moscow and Mallorca, is Swansea's third manager in four years.
He penned a two-year deal on Friday to replace new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers and Monk revealed the squad is excited to work with Laudrup.
Great
"It's a great appointment for Swansea City," Monk told Swansea's official website.
"When you look at the candidates for the job, he was the perfect choice.
"With the way we play, I don't think there are too many managers out there that believe in the style and system."
As well as assisting the Denmark senior side Laudrup's managerial credentials include domestic Danish league titles with Brondby and a Uefa Cup quarter-final with Spanish outfit Getafe.
Monk believes this experience can only benefit a young Swansea side, adding: "The experience he has got as a player and also a manager already will be invaluable to the development of this group of players."
