Owen Coyle admits it was a 'horrible feeling' to see his Bolton side throw away a two-goal lead as West Brom pegged them to 2-2 draw to strike a big blow to their survival hopes.
The Trotters had gone ahead at the Reebok Stadium when Martin Petrov converted a penalty before Billy Jones put through his net in the second half.
However, the Baggies stormed back in the late stages, with Chris Brunt netting before substitute James Morrison grabbed a last-gasp equaliser.
Coyle's men now sit two points adrift of Premier League safety heading into their final game at Stoke next weekend and the manager was bitterly disappointed with Sunday's result.
"It's a horrible feeling, no doubt about it, taking a point from a game that should have been all three," he told
Sky Sports.
"I'm disappointed, absolutely. I think we did enough to earn the three points in the game.
"We got ourselves in a terrific position. A lot of good play.
"(Goalkeeper) Ben Foster was outstanding in goal for West Brom today and you can understand the clamour for him to get involved in the England set-up again. But for our part we should have seen the game through 2-0."
Belief
The Bolton boss insists his side must have belief they can win at Stoke next weekend, and hope Manchester City beat QPR, who pulled ahead with a win against the Potters on Sunday.
"As it is, it's happened," added Coyle. "We now know we have to go to Stoke to win.
"It's a tough venue, of course it is, but we have to go there with belief we can win the game.
"Wigan went there last year on the last day and won. Let's hope that's a good omen for us."
