Everton assistant manager Steve Round was disappointed his side failed to find a way past a stubborn Wolves defence.
The game finished goalless, but Everton could have taken the lead in the 28th minute when Nikica Jelavic had a goal controversially ruled out for offside.
Round felt that Everton were by far the dominant force in the game at Molineux and deserved to take all three points back to Merseyside.
"We are disappointed," he told
Sky Sports.
"We thought we created enough chances to win the game. It's a game we dominated from start to finish.
"It was a perfectly good goal but some you get, some you don't."
Outstanding
Round, though, was full of praise for the Toffees' defensive display, and in particular Phil Jagielka.
"I thought Jagielka was outstanding and well backed up by Johnny Heitinga who is playing really well at the moment," he added.
"All the back four are good and obviously the goalkeeper is as good as they come.
"But we were disappointed with our attacking and the final ball and the final pass.
"We're playing really well, dominating possession and usually scoring lots of goals, it just seems to have deserted us for the last two games. The hope is for the future if we continue to play like that we are going to be a really good team."
For the fans a point means that a seventh-placed finish is still in Everton's own hands should they beat Newcastle next week, which would mean they end the season above Liverpool.
Round added: "It's nice to finish above your local rivals. We just need to concentrate on next week and winning next week and if we do that we finish seventh and at the start of the season we would have taken that."
