Newcastle's Jonas Gutierrez praised match-winner Papiss Cisse after his brace secured a 2-0 victory over Swansea on Friday.

Senegal international is too much for Swansea to handle

Newcastle's Jonas Gutierrez praised match-winner Papiss Cisse after his brace against Swansea maintained their push for the UEFA Champions League. Cisse arrived from German club Freiburg in January and continued his rich vein of form on Friday with strikes either side of half-time to confirm his class. Newcastle have now moved up to fifth in the table and are just two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham as the race for a top-four finish intensifies.

Scoring

"(He is) really fantastic," Gutierrez told Sky Sports. "He's that type of player, always scoring. He's really important for the team. "Now we want the other strikers to score as well, now we want (striker partner) Demba (Ba) to come back to scoring ways. "Papiss is scoring and I'm really enjoying playing with him." Jonas insisted the club were still not thinking about the possibility of finishing in the top four.
Difficult
"It's just about the next game," the Argentinian added. "We are in a good position, but we are just thinking game by game." Jonas admitted, though, Swansea made it difficult for Newcastle at the Liberty Stadium. "We had to work so hard," he added. "It is always difficult to come here. We played against Swansea in the Championship and we got a draw in the last minute. "They played really good football and today we did a really good game."
