Fernandes thinks win over Liverpool will build confidence

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Hogan Ephraim has joined Championship club Bristol City on loan until the end of the season. The versatile 23-year-old has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Loftus Road in the Premier League and boss Mark Hughes has consequently given him the chance of a temporary move. Ephraim has made just three appearances, two as a substitute, for QPR this season, but could help City's bid for survival in the Championship after playing regualrly as his parent club won the division in the last campaign. The transfer comes the day after Hughes' men staged a remarkable late comeback to win 3-2 against Liverpool to boost their own hopes of avoiding Premier League relegation.

Fantastic

And QPR chairman Tony Fernandes was left beaming by the incredible result against Kenny Dalglish's Carling Cup winners and FA Cup semi-finalists. Speaking from Japan in the run-up to the Malaysian Grand Prix, owner of the Caterham Formula One team, Fernandes told QPR's official website: "We've had a bad run of luck, but I've got a smile from one end of Tokyo to the other right now. "The boys played fantastic, Mark did great. I'm over the moon. We've still got a long way to go, but it's good to get some points. "That's a real shot in the arm for us. I've been getting texts from the players and you can hear a buzz in everyone's step. "The confidence is building. We've got good players. We just need a little bit of luck and that confidence will grow."
