Just looking to next week, says Villa boss

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish remains alert to the threat of relegation after his side's 1-1 draw with Blackburn at Ewood Park. Charles N'Zogbia's early strike appeared likely to move Villa well clear of the drop zone, but David Dunn's late equaliser means there is still a chance of McLeish's men being dragged into a relegation fight. Villa head into a pivotal pair of home games against Fulham and Bolton in the knowledge that good results could be imperative given fixtures against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool lie ahead next month. And, after being relegated with Birmingham last season despite seeming comfortably placed at this stage, McLeish knows better than most that Villa need to keep picking up points. "I don't think we can afford to be complacent," said the Villa boss. "Last year we were around the same position, maybe lower. We've got to believe we can climb the table and that's the challenge for the whole team. "All I'm looking to is next week. We've got to concentrate on the next game and not about things that are too far in front. You've got to think about the particular challenges that are coming up."
