Newcastle defender pays no attention to league positions

Mike Williamson revealed he will be preparing for the visit of struggling Wolves in the same way as if it were leaders Manchester City. The Newcastle defender has faced some of the best strikers in the Premier League since returning from injury to the side on Boxing Day. And the 28-year-old believes the Wolves strikers Steven Fletcher, Kevin Doyle and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake are up there with the best of them despite their lowly position. "I pay no attention to the form guide or where they are in the league," he said. "There are world-class players in every team and you take your eye off the ball and you are going to be punished, it's as simple as that. "That's why for me, there are no foregone conclusions in this league. "You have to prepare and play as well as you can, and keep to the standards you have set in previous weeks."
