Villas-Boas will bring success, says Bolton manager

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has backed beleaguered Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas to bring success to Stamford Bridge. The Trotters travel to London on Saturday hoping to extend Chelsea's winless run to six games and heap the pressure on the Portuguese coach. Speculation is rife that another bad result could see Villas-Boas' position become untenable but Coyle is sympathetic. The two men took their UEFA Pro License coaching course together and the Bolton boss is confident his Chelsea counterpart can turn things around.

Opinion

"Anybody can have dips in form or have little bits of luck go against them," said Coyle. "People are talking about Chelsea's results, but if you watched them against Manchester United when they led 3-0 (before going on to draw), I don't think people were questioning anything about that. "Everyone has an opinion in football and that is why we love it. "But I'm pretty sure Andre in the short term will address things and, in the long term, there is no doubt he will bring success to Chelsea as far as I am concerned."
