Spurs playmaker prepared to put future thoughts to one side

Niko Kranjcar is delighted to be back in favour at Tottenham and will see how the rest of the season plays out before making a decision on his future. The Croatia international has often cut a frustrated figure at White Hart Lane, with fierce competition for places leaving him on the outside looking in. He has, however, benefitted from the misfortune of others in recent weeks, with knocks to Rafael van der Vaart and Aaron Lennon seeing him drafted back into the starting XI. Kranjcar has responded with a number of impressive displays and was among the goals as Spurs hammered Newcastle 5-0 on Saturday. He is hoping to remain an important part of Harry Redknapp's plans for the remainder of the campaign, allowing him to put any thoughts of moving on to the back of his mind. "Of course nobody is happy about the injuries to Van der Vaart and Lennon, but I got my chance because of them and I am happy about that," Kranjcar told Novi list.

Chances

"I hope that I have been good enough for our coach. "I am disappointed with the injuries I have had, but I am happy to have played in the last few games. "There is no shame to be a reserve at a club like Tottenham but we will see how many more chances I get before the summer. "Harry Redknapp is always saying to me that he will not let me go for any price and I guess that means that I will get my chance. "I want to help the team to finish as high as we can. "It will be difficult to fight with City and United, but if they make some mistakes then we have to take advantage. We are playing beautiful football but they are more consistent."
