Striker delighted to make the move to Bolton

New Bolton signing Marvin Sordell is determined to repay the faith shown in him by Owen Coyle after arriving at the club from Watford. Sordell's move to the Reebok Stadium was completed just before the transfer deadline on Tuesday and he admits it came as a surprise to him to change clubs. The striker, 20, has joined the Trotters on a three-and-a-half-year deal and may be regarded more as a bright prospect for the future. Manager Coyle, however, is confident Sordell can make an instant impact and he could be handed a debut against Norwich on Saturday.

Battle

The youngster is now looking forward to the challenge of trying to play a key role in Bolton's battle against relegation. "To be honest I didn't expect it at all," Sordell told Sky Sports News. "I was all ready to stay at Watford for the remainder of the season and carry on doing as well as I can for them. "I want to do as well as I can here. The manager has brought me in because he believes in me and I want to repay his faith in me by going out and scoring lots of goals."
