Blackburn midfielder says display at Everton was season's best

David Dunn believes Blackburn are growing in confidence and can win their battle against relegation if everyone stays united. Rovers have endured a tough first half to the season, with poor results leaving them in the bottom three of the Premier League and supporters regularly protesting against manager Steve Kean. However, Dunn has been encouraged by the way Blackburn have played in recent weeks to draw with Liverpool and beat Manchester United and Fulham. They also came from behind to hold Everton 1-1 on Saturday and Dunn believes there were plenty of positives to take from the game in terms of performance and spirit. "That was probably the best we have played all season," the midfielder said in The Sun. "We played as a team, looked very solid, we created chances and we looked strong. "We are in a scrap and must keep going. It's a battle and we won't get carried away.

Confidence

"We would have taken two points from Anfield and Old Trafford if you had offered them beforehand but we took four. "We beat Fulham with ten men and we fought back from a goal down to draw here, which is never an easy place to come." Dunn has been pleased with how the fans have got behind Blackburn over the past few weeks and is looking ahead to the rest of the campaign with a lot more optimism. "I can sense a shifting of the mood. The fans were criticised but they've kept everything out of the ground," he said. "The players are getting more confidence back and I'm a big believer that if you're playing with confidence you can perform as you want to."
