United States international is handed chance to impress Toffees

Everton manager David Moyes will wait until after the weekend before making a decision on American trialist Edson Buddle. The 30-year-old United States international currently plays for Ingolstadt in the German second division, but now has an opportunity to land a deal with a Premier League club. Moyes has identified the heart of his defence as an area that he would like to strengthen this month, but is still mindful of the fact he needs more attacking options. "He has been in for a few days and we will have a look at it and talk about it over the weekend," said Moyes. "I would like to add if I can. We are certainly short at centre-half right now and I have always said that if we can get a centre-forward in then that would be great." Buddle has previously played for MLS teams Columbus Crew and the LA Galaxy.
