Rodgers looking forward to finally adding teenager to his squad

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping to finally conclude the signing of Lens teenager Darnel Situ in the January transfer window. The 19-year-old had accepted a two-year contract to join the Premier League club in the summer after a fee of £250,000 had been agreed. However, FIFA refused to grant international clearance after not all of the paperwork was completed before the transfer window shut. Rodgers has remained keen to add Situ to his squad and is confident the centre-half will arrive at the Liberty Stadium in the New Year. "Darnel is not ready to come straight into the first team, but he is a good kid who is hungry to do well," said Rodgers in the South Wales Evening Post. "Hopefully we can close that deal in January and he will be a development player for us." The Swans have enjoyed a solid start to life in the top flight and Rodgers is keen to build on the success with further signings next month. He added: "There is some money, but not lots of money. We are not a club with millions and millions of pounds, but there will be something available."
