Hungary captain will aim to be fit for the start of next season

West Brom have confirmed Zoltan Gera has been ruled out for the rest of the season after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. The 32-year-old suffered the injury in the 21st minute against Tottenham on Saturday, which they subsequently lost 3-1. Gera will meet up with a surgeon in the coming days before having an operation on his knee over the weekend. The recovery time from an injury like this is usually six to nine months, meaning the former Fulham midfielder could be fit for the start of next term. West Brom's sport science have confirmed Gera will have their full support in the coming months to regain his full fitness.
