Norwich City striker Simeon Jackson is happy to wait for his chance to impress in the Premier League.
With competition in attack from captain Grant Holt, Welsh forward Steve Morrison and summer signing James Vaughan, the Canada international knows he will have to take his chance when he gets it.
The 24-year-old scored nine goals in eight appearances last season including hat-tricks against Scunthorpe and Derby.
This season though he has disappointed in a late run-out as a substitute against Stoke City and in the 4-0 Carling Cup defeat to MK Dons.
Jackson told Canadian newspaper
The Globe and Mail: "We are in the Premier League and there is competition for places. We have signed a few new strikers and it is going to take some time.
"At the minute I am just waiting for my chance and when my chance comes I am going to have to take it - but there is nothing new there."
Canaries boss Paul Lambert knows that he will need to rotate his squad as the season progresses and maintains that everyone will get a chance.
Lambert said: "I need everybody to perform, not just one or two lads, and we will see how we do."
Norwich have taken only two points from their opening three games, but that is not a concern for Lambert who has overseen two successive promotions.
"I know the lads are playing well. We were a minute away from beating Stoke and played really well against Chelsea.
"A lot of people thought we would get turned over, but we were in there for the best part of 80 minutes."
