Marton Fulop has warned Ben Foster he will challenge him for the No.1 goalkeeper's spot at West Brom.

Hungary international out to prove his worth at new club

Marton Fulop has warned Ben Foster he intends to challenge him for the No.1 goalkeeper's position at West Brom. The 28-year-old was recruited from Ipswich on a 12-month deal and made his debut on Sunday as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Parma. Former England international Foster has been installed as the first choice 'keeper at the Hawthorns by Roy Hodgson. But the man from Hungary sees no reason why he cannot provide his team-mate with some friendly competition. "I know Ben Foster is the number one at the club and I came here to help the team and to help us achieve a great season," he told the club's official website.

Opportunity

"If I get the opportunity, I want to take it, but I also want to support Ben, and help him play really well for this club. "It's never nice to be on the bench but when I came to West Brom I knew that Ben would start the season. "I know he is a very good goalkeeper and I accepted that - but I still want to push him for a first-team place and hopefully that will help him as well. "I came here to prove to everybody that I am ready and I can play games if needed."
