Keeper signs one-year deal at The Hawthorns

West Brom have completed the signing of Ipswich goalkeeper Marton Fulop on a one-year deal. The Baggies sold last season's first-choice goalkeeper Scott Carson to Bursaspor earlier in the summer so have been on the lookout for fresh blood between the sticks. That search looked to have been completed when Ben Foster signed on a season-long loan deal from Birmingham last week. However, with Boaz Myhill moving to Birmingham as part of the Foster deal Baggies boss Roy Hodgson was keen to bring in a back-up goalkeeper and wasted no time in sealing a deal for the 28-year-old former Sunderland stopper.

Happy Hodgson

Both Fulop and Foster are in the squad for the Baggies final friendly of pre-season at home to Parma on Sunday. Boss Hodgson was delighted to secure Fulop's signature and have both keepers in place ahead of the start of the new campaign. I'm very happy that we've been able to address the issue of signing another goalkeeper so quickly," said the former Liverpool boss. "I'm also delighted that we've signed a player of Marton's quality and experience. "Like last year, we've now got two goalkeepers with lots of Premier League experience who are both very capable of playing in the top flight and helping us to win matches. "I'm really pleased the deal for Marton had gone through so quickly so that we have both keepers in place for the opening game of the season."
