Murphy and Hughes given run out by Jol

League Two newcomers AFC Wimbledon caused a surprise at Kingsmeadow with a 2-0 victory against a strong Fulham XI. Second half goals from Brett Johnson and Charles Ademeno secured the win against Martin Jol's side, who have already started their competitive season. The Cottagers side contained the likes of Danny Murphy and Aaron Hughes as well as Chris Baird, Bjorn Helge Riise and reported Swansea target David Stockdale. Fulham defeated Faroe Islands outfit NSI Runavik in the first qualifying round of the Europa League 3-0 on aggregate, but Jol, who became the club's new manager in the summer, will be disappointed by the performance. The Dutchman is using the friendly programme to help players back to full fitness ahead of the new Premier League season.
