French champions optimistic of agreeing new contract with striker

Lille are hoping to resume contract negotiations with Moussa Sow when last season's top scorer returns from holiday. Sow was an influential figure in Lille's Ligue 1 title success last season and his exploits have seen him linked with several clubs across Europe. He has already rejected a move to Turkish side Fenerbache and is also rumoured to be a potential target for Premier League club Arsenal. The 25-year-old has two years remaining on his present deal at Lille and the club are keen to agree an extension with Sow. "We are in discussions," Lille's general manager Frederic Paquet told mercato365.com. "We will resume discussions, which started in the spring, on his return from holiday. "We are confident about a contract extension, even if you are never 100 per cent certain."
