Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam has handed in a transfer request, skysports.com can confirm.
The Scottish international has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent weeks, with Liverpool emerging as front-runners to sign him.
Blackpool have rejected bids from Liverpool, Aston Villa and Birmingham for the former Rangers star.
Tangerines boss Ian Holloway has stood firm over his belief that Adam should stay put until the summer, but now he has to contend with an official request.
So far the highest bid for Adam has been Liverpool's £4.5million and it remains to be seen if they will increase that to over £5million.
The player's agent Kenny Moyes confirmed the request, saying: "I can confirm Charlie has handed in a transfer request."
Manager Ian Holloway on his Twitter account, added: "It is true that Charlie has handed in a transfer request, however no bids been accepted yet.
"If Charlie leaves it will be to a big club who are willing to pay the right price for him."
