Rovers boss ready to strengthen in a few areas

Blackburn boss Steve Kean has revealed he is ready to bring in further additions during the January transfer window. The Rovers boss wants to add at least three new faces to his injury ravaged squad despite the club sitting in the top half of the table. Kean is confident if he can welcome back some long-term absentees, along with some new faces at Ewood Park, then it will be all the better. He told the club's official website: "We've got a very good group and if we can get the ones who have been out long term like Vince Grella, who I think will be back in a couple of weeks, Keith Andrews and Steven N'zonzi who are making strides, and Jason Roberts, who is probably still three weeks away. "But if we can get a few bodies back and then when the window opens maybe strengthen in a few areas just to help the lads, not to replace them, then we are going to have a really good squad going into the second half of the season. "We are looking at who will be available in the positions that we need, we've put together a good strong list, let's see what we can do. "Over the last few weeks we've started to give out squad numbers to some of the young lads who haven't had them before, that is how short of players we have been. "But the flip side of that is it is an opportunity for some of the younger guys to come into the team, to be part of the squad, they are definitely ready to be involved so it is a good opportunity."
