Striker refuses to rule out move

Frederic Piquionne has insisted he has not had any contact with Aston Villa about a possible move in January. The West Ham striker has been linked with a move to Villa Park with Gerard Houllier reportedly keen to snap him up. Speaking to French radio station RMC, the former Portsmouth man says he has not spoken with Villa but admits he would be open to the idea. "Why not go to Villa?" the 32-year-old is quoted as saying.

"Gerard Houllier is a well-known manager in France and in England. I read there was interest but nothing concrete. "I'm not losing my head but I'm not closing the door on anything. There has been no contact but we'll see. "I let my agents handle the transfer window. I am 32-years-old and I am happy here, I like it in England. "I feel good here, things are going relatively well at the moment. I'm there to help the team climb up the table."
